Schuh Box Lambs started as a dream of Martin Schuh. His fascination with production agriculture and his love for showing lambs as a student, was the catalysts for the starting of Schuh Box Lambs."I always enjoyed showing lambs when I was a student and decided that raising show lambs would be a good idea. However, I have had a lot to deal with since I decided to raise show lambs for a living. I soon learned that producing show lambs is different form raising them for show.The problems have made it difficult, but as I discovered the answer to many of these problems, I have been able to better raise a quality show lamb. I am also better educated, due to these experiences, to help the customer get the lamb that will best work for them and to better help them after the purchase."
The name “Schuh Box Lambs” some times confuses people who have never seen our name before. The word “Schuh”, which is our last name, is pronounced “shoe”. We chose the name Schuh Box Lambs because Schuh Lambs or Schuh Club Lambs sounds like someone is chasing away a sheep and thus wouldn't be appropriate. Also, Schuh Box Lambs has a certain ring to it and is a hard name to forget. So we chose Schuh Box Lambs to be the next big name in the club lamb breeding business.
Schuh Box Lambs is located on 75 beautiful acres about 45 miles southwest of San Antonio, Texas. About 95% of the land is planted in coastal which is bailed as well as grazed. We presently run 73 breeding ewes which contain genetics from:

- CLS Show Lambs, KS
- Hurliman Club Lambs, OK
- MacLennan Club Lambs, CO
as well as other outstanding club lamb breeders.
Schuh Box Lambs is a business designed to provide our customers with the best quality show lambs available. We believe that our customers are the key to our success and strive to develop a relationship with our customers that will allow us to meet their show lamb needs. We also follow the show lamb industry to stay up-to-date with the types of lambs that are winning in the major shows across the United States. This allows us to be able to provide the quality of lambs that are needed to be competitive. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of our flock. The breeding flock is continually analyzed to see which ewes are performing to our standards. Those ewes that don't meet our standards are removed and replacements are added that do. Rams are also critiqued for performance on our ewe flock. We are always looking for rams that will best complement our ewes and allow us to produce lambs that will work for you, the customer.
Schuh Box Lambs is a family operation that is owned and operated by both Glenn Schuh and Martin Schuh. The business was started in 1990 on 3 acres with three ewes. From these original three ewes only one proved to have the genetics we needed. We then bought other ewes that modeled her muscling and eye appeal. Since then we have been able to develop a type of show lamb that is competitive in any show ring.
